Migraine headaches are no fun at all. They are debilitating, they make it hard to concentrate and they cause you to just sit in a room until the pain subsides. People who suffer from frequent migraines often spend lots of money on migraine headache medication and sometimes that medication doesn’t even work very well. Instead of spending all of your money on medication, it would instead be smarter to learn the causes of your migraine headache. That way, you’ll be able to hopefully prevent migraines from ever coming back. To find the causes of your migraine headaches, make a record of when you get the migraines, as well as any other variables you can think of. It may take a few migraines before you find the cause, but this will help you out in the long run as you will know exactly how to prevent ever getting migraines again. Keep Pad And Pen Handy Whenever you get a migraine, have a pad and pen close by. That way, you can just reach over and grab those items so that you can record all of the variables that may reveal the causes of your migraine headache. These include the day, the time, what you have eaten, any scents you’re exposed to, your location and anything else you can think of. You should keep this notepad and pen close by at all times so that you’re never without them. After a while, and after a few migraines, you’ll have a good list to go by that will help you do some investigative work as far as finding out the causes of your migraine headaches go. Go Through Your Records After a few migraines, and after you’ve recorded all the variables that may have to do with that migraine, it’s time to investigate the causes of your migraine headaches. Go through your lists and try to find similarities. For example, if every time you get a migraine headache, you drank milk right before, you could be allergic to milk and that could be the cause. If you always get migraines when it gets cold outside, it could be due to a weather change. Then, try to change the variables you think could be adding to the causes of your migraine headaches. Hopefully, by changing enough variables, you’ll prevent migraines from ever coming back. See A Doctor It’s always a good idea to see your doctor, even if you think you’ve found the causes of your migraine headaches. A doctor is in a better position to diagnose your migraine problem. Show your evidence to your doctor and fill him in on what you’ve been doing. Your investigative work may help him out and he may be able to determine the exact causes of your migraine headaches faster than he would otherwise.
