There are many reasons why we get headaches. There are many ranges of headache pain as well. There is the dull throbbing that comes when the weather changes, or when we feel slightly ill, and then there is the sharp migraine headache that is nearly if not completely debilitating. Just as there are many forms of headaches, there are also many forms of headache relief. And while some headache relief forms work for some, they may not work for all. It’s best, if you suffer from frequent headaches, to test out the various forms of headache relief to see what works for you. Hangover Anyone who has ever drank too much knows what a hangover headache feels like. The hangover symptoms themselves (dry mouth, nausea and vertigo) are bad enough, but they are usually accompanied by a very annoying headache. This headache will cause you to want to do anything to find headache relief. What is essentially happening is your pain is swelling against the side of your skull. To find headache relief from a hangover, you should take two ibuprofen and drink as much water as possible the night before you go to bed. If that doesn’t work and you still wake up from a hangover, you should again take two ibuprofen the next morning, take a multivitamin and try to get your heartbeat going with some form of exercise. These are all great ways to find headache relief after a night of heavy drinking. Allergies Allergies are a different story. Allergies will quickly plug up your nose and your head will feel stuffy. You should try to find headache relief from allergies by trying an over the counter allergy medicine. You can also try to boil water and then stick your head over the water with a towel over the back of your head. This creates a sauna effect which will help drain out all that mucous, allowing all that pressure to subside and, thus, helping in headache relief. No Reason Sometimes, we get a headache for no reason. It can be caused by stress, by the atmosphere, such as when the weather changes, or it can be caused by something else entirely. Try ibuprofen, Tylenol, or you can try to massage the sides of your head to find that much needed headache relief that allows you to function at your best once again. Headaches are no fun but knowing how to find headache relief will prepare you whenever you begin to feel that throbbing or stabbing pain in your head.
