How many hours do you actually spend at work? Do you at times even need to ping home a pile of work after actually finishing your office duties? Certainly, with the many activities that people are supposed to engage in these days, it is undeniable that loosing time for too many works has also caused for some to incur physical illnesses. One of the most common effects of such situations is tension headache. If you have been subject to headaches off and on for many years, it is more than likely that your headache is either the so-called “tension” type or the less common “migraine.” You may be wondering just how you can tell the difference. If you suffer from tension headache, the pain is constant or steady in type. It is felt in the muscles at the back of the head or on both sides of the head; less often it is felt above the eyes. It may feel as if your head is gripped in a vise or constricted by a tight band; alternatively, you may experience only a sensation of weight or pressure on your head. Tension headaches are due to excessive or sustained contraction of the muscles of the scalp and the powerful muscles of the neck that support the head. For this reason they are also known as muscle-contraction headaches. Why the Need to be Serious about Tension Headache? Tension headache, as noted is an excruciating pain that makes one feel too ill to finish his or her work. Not giving attention to this would simply worsen the situation. It is simply by noting that the headache is recurring should one actually be alarmed that this is already a serious situation and that not giving the matter some careful medical attention would only lead to further much serious health problems later on. It always pays to act immediately when tension headache is observed to occur. Doing so would allow an individual to find immediate tension headache relief that he needs to be free from the pain that the said illness makes him suffer. Understandably, some of those who simply avoid making immediate response to the situation end up suffering much serious illnesses later on. You surely would not want to end up that way, do you?
